If your baby seems to “sink” lower in your wrap or carrier after you’ve been wearing them for a bit, there’s a simple reason:
Your wrap or carrier just needs to be fitted a little more snugly.
This is really common - especially as the fabric softens and your baby relaxes into the carry.
Here’s how to fix it quickly:
If you’re using a baby wrap
Your wrap should feel snug and supportive, holding your baby close enough that you can easily kiss the top of their head.
If baby starts to feel lower or loose:
1. Re-tie your wrap, making sure you:
- Keep tension in the fabric as you wrap
- Pull out any slack before you knot
2. Finish with a firm, secure double knot.
If you’re unsure whether you’ve got it right, our video tutorials show exactly how to tie your wrap for a perfect fit every time.

If you’re using a baby carrier
Carriers can sometimes loosen as your baby’s weight settles. The fix is very simple.
1. Pop your hands under your baby’s bottom and cuddle them in toward your chest - as if you were holding them without a carrier.
Notice how they naturally sit higher on your body?
2. Hold baby at that height, and then:
- Reposition the waistband so it sits under baby’s bum and a little higher on your torso
- Tighten the side straps so the carrier holds baby snugly in place again
Your baby should now feel:
-
High enough to kiss ✨
-
Close to your body
-
Supported through their back and legs
